
FAQ Minor Clinic Surgery
Minor Clinic Surgery refers to short outpatient procedures that are carried out by your surgeon at the Humber River Hospital Plastic Surgery Clinic under local anaesthesia. You are fully awake during the procedure. Such procedures may include excision of skin lesions and soft tissue masses (lipomas, cysts) as well as hand surgery.
The TW office will provide you with the date and arrival time for your Minor Clinic Surgery. All Minor Clinic Surgery procedures are carried out at the Humber River Hospital Plastic Surgery Clinic (Main Floor, Pod D) located at 1235 Wilson Ave, North York, ON M3M 0B2. Please register at the reception desk upon your arrival at the clinic.

Please bring your valid OHIP card. Wear loose, comfortable clothing. You may bring water or other light beverages at your direction, however, please avoid brining any food.
You are welcome to bring one care partners to your appointment. Please note that your care partner will be asked to leave the procedure suite during your surgery.
Although most surgeries last less than 45 minutes, please allocate approximately 1 - 1.5 hours for your minor surgery appointment.
No, all procedures are performed with injection of local anaesthesia (“freezing”), similar to a dentist appointment. Please advise your care team should you have any allergies to local anaesthetics.
You do not need to fast prior to minor surgery. Please eat prior to your procedure to avoid feeling light-headed during and after your surgery.
You will an instruction sheet after your procedure with detailed directives specific to your surgery. All necessary dressings will be applied during the procedure for you.
The TW office will advise you of the date and time for your first follow-up appointment with Dr Vojvodic.
Patients are asked not to travel until you have completely healed and you have been given clearance by Dr Vojvodic. Depending on the type of procedure this is usually no sooner than 4-6 weeks post surgery.
